Fishtails are a clustering palm that grow very densely. Their draping rich green leaves conjure up a tropical mood. Unlike other palm’s feathery fronds, the Fishtail’s foliage is tightly organized in a herringbone pattern that offers privacy in any spot you choose for them.
The Fishtail Palm can be grown in full sun to part shade. They are moderately cold tolerant, preferring temperatures about 55 degrees. They can, however, survive the occasional light frost. They’re moderate growers, usually achieving a height of 20 to 25 ft. tall.
